Rio
Norte Jr. High Direct Donation Fundraising Campaign 2013-14
Dear Rio
Norte Parents:
It is that
time of year again – donation time! This
year at Rio Norte, we will be conducting a direct donation fundraising campaign. This is the only school-wide fundraising campaign
for ASB this year. Our goal is to raise all
of the funds needed to support the ASB programs here at Rio Norte through
this direct donation campaign.
One
Fundraiser, Not Many
We won’t be
asking you to buy or sell items like magazines or wrapping paper, nor will we
ask you to force cookie dough on your child’s grandmother. We won’t be asking
you to buy raffle tickets. We’re going to make life easy for you and ask for
your support directly.
Direct
Donation is Effective, Efficient and Benefits You!
1.
100% of your donation goes to the school – every penny goes to Rio Norte.
2.
100% of your donation is income tax-deductible!
3.
No selling or buying of products involved.
4. You can save
precious time and effort- just write a check.
Anyone
can contribute – tell your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and
your place of business! We welcome all contributions for ANY amount.
They can know that they will be helping a great cause and getting a
tax-deduction at the same time. If you need additional donation forms, they are
available online HERE
Help Us
Meet Our Goal
Our direct donation fundraising goal is $60,000 with
100% participation from all Rio families. In the past, we have relied on the
generous support of Rio Norte families.
This year, we again hope that every
family participates in the direct donation campaign , to meet our
100% participation goal - especially since every child benefits. Our suggested donation is $50 per family, but any amount is
welcome. This breaks down to
approximately $5 a month for the time your child is in school this year. If you can afford more, please give
generously to your child’s extra-curricular education.
Benefits
for your child
This drive helps raise money for Field
Trips, Dances, School Clubs, Team Activities, Academic Competitions, Drama
Performances, Student Recognition Programs, Lunchtime Activities, and so much
more!
Why
do you need more of my money?
Believe us when we tell you, that if we
could avoid asking for donations, we would.
The unfortunate truth is that the funding for extra-curricular
activities does not come from taxes, Mello-Roos, or any other governmental
funding source. Donations are the only way to raise funds for these
programs. Just to put money into
perspective, the cost for a single bus transporting students to a field trip
can be as high as $600, meaning that to transport a single Rio Norte team from
campus for just one field trip could cost $2,400…and that’s just to travel.
At the end of the day, the reality is that
many of the best and most memorable experiences of Jr. High occur at ASB funded
activities like dances and field trips.
We hope you will join us in our efforts to provide your child with a well-rounded
and worthwhile Rio Norte Jr. High school career.
Thank You,
Your Rio Norte ASB
